Exciting news today – I’m able to announce the first two “extra” classes we are offering as a way to while away some of your free time on the Saturday afternoon. I’m loving that we have the time this year to offer these, and also that we have the space to offer a few classes in a slightly different format. These are one hour-ish turn up if you feel like it classes and we hope you will love them. It will make a special weekend just a little bit more so. Without further ado….
Meet the Maker with Belinda Evans
Join Belinda as she weaves and shares the inspiration behind her work. Belinda weaves daily and her woven tapestries, made primarily using reclaimed and found materials, are inspired by the Australian natural landscapes that she visits on her regular travels across the country. Belinda is teaching our Modern Weaving course on Sunday but this workshop provides a different format for Belinda to share her process of combining traditional techniques with a modern design aesthetic.
There are still a few spots left in Belinda's Modern Weaving Using Traditional Techniques at The Craft Sessions. Her website is here and her instagram is here.
Beautiful Craft Photography with Felicia Semple
Tips and tricks for how to take better photos of your craft with a dSLR and an iPhone to bring out the beauty you see before you. Suitable for total beginners, this workshop will demystify taking photos on manual with your dSLR, and give you tips for taking better photos with your iPhone. Over the last eight years Felicia has progressed from being a total novice with no interest in photography, to a person who gets lost in the moment when capturing the light. Your takeaway will be a super condensed version of what she has learned about taking pictures, and a new found confidence to experiment on your own.
I'll have one more extra workshop for you very soon - for all you fibre lovers out there I've got a super helpful one for you! Can't wait to reveal….
